Labyrinth is an innovative laboratory school that caters to primary, lower, and upper-secondary students in the Czech Republic. As of December 2025, there are currently 450 students under the supervision of a team consisting of 60 individuals. The school is situated across two buildings, with one dedicated to primary education and the other designated for lower- and upper-secondary levels.
Accredited by the Czech Ministry of Education in 2016, Labyrinth operates with a unique blend of laboratory and private school elements, allowing it to chart its own educational course within the Czech educational landscape. Despite being a private institution, Labyrinth remains committed to engaging with and supporting public education as part of its core value of social responsibility.
Labyrinth School closely cooperates with Masaryk University in Brno on various projects, particularly those focused on formative assessment and innovative approaches to teaching and learning. Its teachers actively serve as mentors for pre-service teachers, supporting their professional development and bridging theory with classroom practice. In addition, the school collaborates with other universities, including Brno University of Technology, Newton College, and Palacký University in Olomouc. Through these partnerships, Labyrinth contributes to research activities, teacher education, and the development of modern pedagogical practices. Labyrinth School also participates in international and national projects, such as the SENSEI project (School Education for Sustainable and Equal Education), which focuses on sustainability, equity, and quality in education and includes the organization of Teachers Academies aimed at professional learning and collaboration among educators.
Embracing the concept of an ecosystem school, Labyrinth operates as a dynamic institution with fluid boundaries, actively engaging with the local community and broader society. The school fosters functional networks that respond to the needs of the global-local community, as it works towards creating a meaningful impact on its surroundings.

The school serves as a cultural and community center, providing support for students, parents, and the larger community. Collaboration among students, educators, families, and the community is central to the school’s philosophy, ensuring the well-being of all stakeholders involved.

The school is dedicated to collaborating with other schools and educators, as well as establishing connections between businesses, public institutions, and education. Our focus is on guiding children through the educational system in a positive manner, nurturing
their potential within a supportive community and educational environment.
At Labyrinth, we prioritize meaningfulness, values, and integrity. We believe that diversity of perspectives and intrinsic motivation are essential for fostering a lifelong love of learning. Each day, we engage in reflection on values and their impact on our daily decisions,
as well as how they shape our relationships with ourselves, others, and the world.
Our students are encouraged to discover their individual life paths and learning strategies, to set goals and continuously assess
their progress, and to celebrate both personal and team achievements. In addition, Labyrinth instills core values, as depicted in Figure 2, which serve as a foundation for developing social and emotional competencies necessary for success in the 21st century.
These values, combined with essential knowledge, help students become self-assured, empathetic, open-minded citizens, and,
aboveall, self-directed learners.
