TOBB ETÜ Laboratory Schools were established in the 2022–2023 academic year in the Söğütözü district of Ankara, operating under the regulations of TOBB ETÜ Laboratory Schools and affiliated with the Institute of Educational Sciences at TOBB University of Economics and Technology.
The school currently serves approximately 200 students at the preschool and primary school levels and employs a growing team of qualified teachers and academic staff. Students are admitted through a selective process, and a significant proportion of students are supported through scholarships, reflecting the school’s commitment to equity and access. In line with its vision of building an innovative and transformative school model, the school began by enrolling only preschool and Grade 1 students and has expanded gradually by grade level. The middle school campus is planned to open in the 2026–2027 academic year.

Pedagogically, the school provides high-quality, student-centered education grounded in inquiry, innovation, and well-being. As of 2025, TOBB ETÜ Laboratory Schools is an accredited IB World School, implementing the Primary Years Programme (PYP). Teachers are positioned as action researchers and are actively encouraged and supported to pursue master’s and doctoral studies, fostering a strong culture of reflective practice and continuous professional learning.
The school collaborates with the university through multiple academic units and disciplines, not solely through the Institute of Educational Sciences. The school functions as an authentic learning and research environment connected to the university’s strengths in engineering, medicine, technology, and social sciences. These collaborations include interdisciplinary learning experiences for students, expert-led workshops and talks, laboratory and campus visits, curriculum enrichment, academic research, and pilot projects. This broad, flexible partnership structure enables the school to bridge theory and practice while extending learning beyond traditional education faculties and contributing to innovative, future-oriented educational models.
