Lab School Paris

Lab School was founded in 2016 by Pascale Haag and Marlène Martin. It has been growing ever since and today has classes from Grade 1 to Grade 12. Lab School’s first graduating seniors will receive their diplomas in May 2026.
There are about 140 students and 35 staff who come to Lab School every day. Our learning community is bilingual and focused on wellbeing. Our teachers practice pedagogy based on research, including the work of Freinet, Bissonnette, Connac, Dewey, Hélot, Jouan, and the International Baccalaureate Organisation.
Lab School Paris doors are always open to students in the social sciences, especially education and psychology. We offer internships and learn immensely from the Masters and Doctoral students we are lucky to have on staff during their studies. We also organize Wellbeing Week (La semaine du bonheur), in close collaboration with a university. This event is the opportunity to share best practices and research related to wellbeing and socio-emotional competencies with a broader audience.

A defining feature of Lab School Paris is its collaboration with university researchers and research networks. Through partnerships with academic institutions and programs like LabSchoolsEurope, MotivAction, or WE RESiST, the school participates in action research that examines and refines educational practices, contributes to professional development for teachers, and disseminates findings more broadly. Projects have included Erasmus+ research collaborations, action research, and internships for undergraduate and graduate students from various universities. These efforts make research an embedded part of school life—students, teachers and researchers work together to explore and evaluate innovative practices.
